Gospel Unity

Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful].  (Ephesians 4:3 AMP)

Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others]. (Colossians 3:14 AMP)

I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.” (John 13:34-35 AMP)

Understanding our freedom in Christ; live and be seen as having attitudes and actions of personal and willing acceptance of other persons.

Therefore, [continue to] accept and welcome one another, just as Christ has accepted and welcomed us to the glory of [our great] God.  (Romans 15:7 AMP)

From His mouth comes a sharp sword (His word) with which He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He will tread the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty [in judgment of the rebellious world]. (Revelation 19:15 AMP)

For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].” But if you bite and devour one another [in bickering and strife], watch out that you [along with your entire fellowship] are not consumed by one another. But I say, walk habitually in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be responsive to His guidance], and then you will certainly not carry out the desire of the sinful nature [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. (Galatians 5:13-16 AMP)

A Beatitude

(“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and who keeps his clothes [that is, stays spiritually ready for the Lord’s return], so that he will not be naked-spiritually unprepared-and men will not see his shame.”)  (Revelation 16:15 AMP)

Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near. (Revelation 1:3, ESV)

Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you. (Revelation 3:3, ESV)

16:15 Blessed. This is the third of seven beatitudes in Revelation (see note after 14:13). Jesus warned believers to be vigilant because of the unexpected timing of His return (Mt 24:43–44). The warning to watch is a reminder of the parable of the ten virgins (Mt 25:1–13) who were told to “Therefore, be on the alert [be prepared and ready], for you do not know the day nor the hour.”

Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.  Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. (Matthew 24:42-44, ESV)

And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. (1 John 2:28, ESV)

And they sang the song of Moses, the bond-servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and wonderful and awe-inspiring are Your works [in judgment], O Lord God, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all]; Righteous and true are Your ways, O King of the nations! “Who will not fear [reverently] and glorify Your name, O Lord [giving You honor and praise in worship]? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS SHALL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS [Your just decrees and judgments] HAVE BEEN REVEALED and DISPLAYED.”  (Revelation 15:3-4 AMP)

This song was sung by Jews in their Sabbath gatherings, as well as by early Christians at Easter. song of the Lamb. The song of the Lamb celebrates the finished work of God, when all of His righteous acts have been revealed, from creation to atonement to judgment.

Your Word Is A Lamp To My Feet

Then Jesus said to them, “O foolish men, and slow of heart to trust and believe in everything that the prophets have spoken! Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and [only then to] enter His glory?” Then beginning with Moses and [throughout] all the [writings of the] prophets, He explained and interpreted for them the things referring to Himself [found] in all the Scriptures. (Luke 24:25-27 AMP)

Then He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you, everything which has been written about Me in the Law of Moses and the [writings of the] Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to [help them] understand the Scriptures, and said, “And so it is written, that the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed) would suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance [necessary] for forgiveness of sins would be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. (Luke 24:44-47 AMP)

You search and keep on searching and examining the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and yet it is those [very Scriptures] that testify about Me; For if you believed and relied on [the Scriptures written by] Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me [personally]. (John 5:39,46 AMP)

Christ In The Psalms

Jesus is Lord of the covenant, the Psalms are sung to Him, and since Jesus is Servant of the covenant, the psalms are sung by Him. Jesus is therefore above us as the One to whom we sing, and Jesus is beside us as the One who sings with us in all of life’s experiences.

The Book of Psalms Introduction – The Reformation Study Bible

Both Jesus who sanctifies and those who are sanctified [that is, spiritually transformed, made holy, and set apart for God’s purpose] are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, saying, “I WILL DECLARE YOUR (the Father’s) NAME TO MY BRETHREN (believers), IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE.”  And again [He says], “MY TRUST and CONFIDENT HOPE WILL BE PLACED IN HIM.” And again, “HERE I AM, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.” (Hebrews 2:11-13 AMP)

For he has said, “I will reveal who you really are to my brothers and sisters, and I will glorify you with praises in the midst of the congregation.”   And, “My confidence rests in God!” And again he says, “Here I am, one with the children Yahweh has given me.”  (Hebrews 2:12-13 TPT)

So be made strong even in your weakness by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship. And strengthen your weak knees,  for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed! (Hebrews 12:12-13 TPT)

Here is [encouragement for] the steadfast endurance of the saints (God’s people), those who habitually keep God’s commandments and their faith in Jesus. (Revelation 14:12 AMP)

I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patient endurance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos, [exiled there] because of [my preaching of] the word of God [regarding eternal salvation] and the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 1:9 AMP)

A Great Multitude From Every Nation

I said to him, “My lord, you know [the answer].” And he said to me, “These are the people who come out of the great tribulation (persecution), and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb [because of His atoning sacrifice]. (Revelation 7:14 AMP)

For this reason, they are [standing] before the throne of God; and they serve Him [in worship] day and night in His temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them and shelter and protect them [with His presence]. They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any [scorching] heat; for the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes [giving them eternal comfort].”  (Revelation 7:15-17 AMP)

Where do these verses strike you? Comforting, repentant, or overwhelming… pondering all day myself.

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, (Hebrews 13:20, ESV)

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, (John 10:14, ESV)

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalms 23, ESV)
